Stone Circle

2023, (house rubble, metal, wood, electronics)

What if the walls could speak? 'Stone circle' is a sound installation that makes household rubble resonate. Together with former residents of the social housing district 'Gildebuurt' in Eindhoven, Geerke started to demolish the first walls of their beloved houses. The brick as rock that is closest to us. What if we could listen to the history of such a stone?

This sound installation is reminding us of a huge vinyl player. In this intentional setup, the artist lets a rotating arm with scanner measure the heights and lows of the rubble landscape. This data is converted in real time into a soundscape where the stones form the score of the sound that resonates.
